Review: Lenovo has created something very special with Yoga 3 Pro, which is a pleasure to work with.
I will already now reveal that Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro is an ultra bold ultra book, with nice features and good performance. So this is where you must read if you want to have a very special ultra book that gives you nice screen, good battery life, great features and a very flexible body. But you must be prepared to pay for it.
Flexible as a yoga instructor
Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro is a ultra book and thus also ultra-thin. Yoga measures only 12.8 mm, which causes it to work easy and elegant, when worn under his arm.
Yoga 3 Pro has top and bottom in metal, but the rest is made of plastic. It provides a good compromise between appearance and weight, which is held down at 1.19 kg, while the exclusive alu-look is retained.
Yogas gloss number found in the hinges that hold the screen and keyboard part together. The hinge is designed so that the screen can be rotated 360 degrees rounded, and lie flat against the back of the computer (tablet mode)
Whether you like the look of the hinges is probably a matter of taste, but immediately, I think that the watch’s metal strap pivots-look brings something different and exclusive to the overall appearance of Yoga 3 Pro.
The hinges are giving some very yoga-esque benefits as Yoga 3 Pro thus can be angled differently and is used in several ways. The screen can be flippes around and the device is being used as a tablet or a “tent” and act as a TV.
I must admit that I did not fall for these options, and for the most part, I returned to the classic laptop setup.
Lots of connectivity options
Despite its narrow outer, there was space to separate the connectivity in the Cabinet:
2 x USB 3.0 ports
1 DC (charger) which also acts as USB 2.0
4-in-1 card reader for SD, MMC, SDXC and SDHC
At this point attach Lenovo itself ahead of competitors such as Microsoft Surface Pro 3, where users have to make do with one USB 3.0 port, HDMI and jack.
The sound from the narrow chassis supplied by two loudspeakers from JBL. Thickness taken into account they play over the Mediterranean, but the location on the underside is far from optimal and stifles in many cases sound.
Good interaction gives nice performance
Lenovo delivers Yoga 3 Pro with Windows 8.1, which plays well with the machinery and the touch screen, but whether one likes Windows 8.1 is of course a matter of taste.
In Yoga 3 Pro ´ s internal find a Intel core M 5Y70 dual core 1, 1 GHz processor, which might not sound much, but together with 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD, it gives comprehensive saw some really good preconditions for a fine performance.
M processor for short periods can boost to 2, 6 GHz, but there are many indications that it is made only to a very limited extent, since the processor easily gets hot and thus is not in a position to boost. It can be connected with the limited possibility of chilly in the very narrow Cabinet.
Looking beyond the cold specifications, close your eyes and experience Yoga 3 Pro drawers the No.Although there are several sites on the Web have been alleged, that it only distinguishes itself for Office tasks, my experience has been that Yoga also can handle Photoshop tasks and easy video editing.
You must edit the long HD movies or are you hardcore gamer you’ll probably look for another product.Otherwise I will promise that you can hardly be disappointed by Yoga 3 Pro.
Razor-sharp screen in big lid
Lenovo Yoga 3 13.3 inch QHD Pro has a touchscreen with a resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels. There is no doubt that with these specifications are expectations screwed in the weather, and Lenovo also fulfils most.
The only place where I was a tad disappointed was when I first opened the lid. I was well aware that the monitor was on 13.3 inch, but the visions just not to much in the lid, which significantly larger dimensions. The frame around the screen is indeed to the thick side, but having said that there’s not much negative to say about the screen.
The image stands razor-sharp with great color reproduction and a touch-screen that responds immediately to the touch – even without committing any greasy fingerprints to the same extent as other touch screens. Only small but is that the contrast is not nearly as deep as that of this year’s best-ever ultrabooks as Asus UX305 and Dell XPS 13.
Keyboard with airy keys
The cabinet size 33 x 22.8 cm provides plenty of space for your keyboard. In fact, so much space that there is almost too much space between keys. There is good response in the keys and then gives the large spaces the obvious advantages: it’s easy to remove dirt and grime, and so has the keys do not tend to “hang together” when they become worn.
Clickpaden, which is analogous with other producers to “touchpad” or “trackpad” is great and easy to use.The movement picked up quickly and accurately, and only little wormwood is the resonance is heard in the Cabinet when it is clicked/printed. It is unfortunately helping to give the otherwise exclusive expression a cheap nyk downwards.
When Lenovo abandons that Yoga 3 Pro has a battery life of up to 9 hours, it’s probably not a completely accurate picture of the real battery life. I’ve experienced very volatile performance during the test period, where I’ve hit a battery life of 5-7 hours on a balanced power plan.
This means that it is necessary to bring the charger when you walk out the door if you want to be sure to be able to work a full day at the Office.
Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro ´ s sexy thin look leaves not much room for batteries, and in relation to other producers growing the trees nor into the sky. But will you have a thin outer, one must be willing to compromise on other things, such as battery life.
The charger is, however, a positive feature in itself. The charger via USB, which means that you can charge other gadgets with the same charger, if you even bring cable for mobile, ipad or similar.
Conclusion – thin, sexy and animals
Let there be no doubt, that Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro is a gorgeous slim model with its features appeal to users with style in mind.
The service is fairly and will be able to meet most people’s needs, whether than hardcore gamers and film producers probably should look elsewhere for products with bigger muscles.
The screen is excellent and delicious to work with. It is sharp and Nice, but not by much in 13.3 inch visions it significantly larger lid. A 14 inch display had enough the pass better for the other dimensions.
Battery life varies depending on usage pattern, than share and thus have we in the test period experienced battery times of 5-7 hours. Not so bad when taken into account the thickness of the Cabinet, but it also means that the charger as a precaution should be included in the bag.
The big minus at Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro comes when you want to run through dankort debit card at checkout. The price is according to Lenovo at 10,999 crowns! It is however cheaper around the Web, where it is seen to 9,499 crowns or a little cheaper in connection with campaigns.
The change, however, does not know that there are many alternatives in the same or lower price range, which could be more or equally interesting.
