The Jenner girl, Kylie Jenner is the protagonist of the new campaign of Puma to present the new models of their Suede shoes, a classic of the firm that has existed since 1968 and that each year is reinvented with new designs and materials
These Puma sneakers were popularized by American athletes such as athlete Tommie Smith in the 60s or 70s basketball player Walt “Clyde” Frazier. The suede were especially well-known in the 80’s with B-boys and hip-hop lovers in New York City.
The street style trend look to combine the Puma Suede is in Chinese pants with the hem at the end of the pants.
For this new campaign the sports firm has chosen a trendsetter in the networks, model Kylie Jenner, previously this model was presented by the queen of snapchat and director of vibes YesJulz, hip hopero Rae Sremmurd or rapper Young Thug, among others .
The campaign has been portrayed by photographer Jamel Shabazz Street, to capture with his camera young Suede tastemakers around the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood in Brooklyn. Shabazz was instrumental in the 1980s to popularize the Suede, with their street culture photos in New York City and the hip hop scene.
In the images of the new campaign we see a very young Kylie Jenner in sporty looks showing the new models of Suede for next season on the bottom of the streets of Bedford full of graffiti and brick walls. What once was considered a dangerous neighborhood in Brooklyn has now become a backdrop for fashion campaigns, a bit of irony.
