Panasonic, one of the 3D-Vorreitern – and offers the full spectrum of the 3D-Profi-Videokamera 3D-Mastering and authoring as the only company in addition to Sony to the 3D TVs and now Blu-ray-player. The debut player DMP BDT 300 listens the little jewelry full name.

Two features the Blu-ray connoisseurs immediately noticed on this device: a 3D logo that promises stereoscopic images to another, at the rear, a double HDMI socket. And it could carry the Panasonic to the through-starter under the 3D-Playern.

Externally, the DMP BDT 300 remains faithful to its predecessors. A power and an eject button on the top edge are the only controls. Drive, USB port and SD card reader disappear behind the full front flaps. The rear offers a second USB port that also for the Wi-FI dongle supplied as standard with to wireless network which can be used. Otherwise, only the mentioned second HDMI socket from the series falls. The stereo – and 5.1 cinch Sockets can interconnect to a 7.1 octet.

Double tube output

Inside Panasonic’s own UniPhier image processor works, and makes good his cause: decoding with a sharp image, stable de-interlacing in DVD and BD resolution, minimum double contracts at high scaled DVDs. Which have increased with the parameter “Super resolution” still, what brings the image but to see more “crisp”: a matter of taste. The “chroma process” that better works out fine color details works very well and without any noticeable disadvantages. Overall, the testers found but often too soft and treated after the image straight from DVD. well noticed: we whine here at a very high level.

On the audio side, Panasonic also equips the BDT 300 with a number of treatment methods. There is a very neat-sounding dynamic compression for silent listeners and operation with weak-breasted Boxlein in flat-screen televisions. Scale audio to at least 88.2 kHz “Remastering” and the “tube sound” – so it should sound fine dynamic or after tube amp. The latter function could inspire little with thin sound; Remastering came out contoured, this also slightly wuchtiger.

On the plus side, the Japanese presented DVD-RAM compatibility, the in-house “VieraCast”-Internet portal, sensationally fast photo playback and DLNA networking for video distribution and MP3s from the server. The SD-slot reads the latest XC-media of current camcorder. And the second HDMI socket? Increased compatibility, because existing AV amplifier understand no 3D video – only 2D would depend on the TV. The Panasonic solution: an HDMI connection to the 3D TV and the second for the sound to the amplifier must therefore not just newly bought.

3D? No problem!

Experiments with 3D-Demoscheiben and the 3D Blu-ray “monsters vs. aliens” work easily in 2D and 3D. Curious friend up, previously skeptical colleagues from the editorial staff and the Photo Studio very soon became 3D-Fans and fought literally to the eyewear.

Remain still on the comparison of the sound. The Panasonic reached with HDMI not quite the precision of the Cambridge Azur 650 BD; with 63 points, he keeps the level of his predecessor. Analog sound he more powerful and showed some late heights against the English in stereo. 5.1 output, he was a lead slimmer.
